Steezeee Stealz

Quote of the Day: "I like being a woman, even in a man’s world. After all, men can’t wear dresses, but we can wear the pants."
                                                                      — Whitney Houston
Song of the Day: Calvin Harris ft. Kelis- Bounce

Ciao, Gütentag, Bonjour, Hello…that's about all I know. This is me trying to look extremely cultured and failing. It's not like I totally just copy pasted this from Google Translations.

I would like to introduce a new segment on my blog called Steeze Steelz. It will be every month and will show you the best fashion finds I managed to snag at that time. Also, It‘ll tell you how you can pair them to make yourself look fashionable or at least not fashion challenged.

Anywho, this weekend I finally got to go shopping. My parents feel its unnecessary to "spend" money on clothes every month resulting in my virtually nonexistent fashion friendly closet. Thanks to having a big sister-that can make even the most hideous of corduroy pants look like something off the shelves of Saks Fifth- I don't look like a social leper when walking outside to face the day.

My mom thought it was finally time to treat me after all these years of wardrobe abuse. So she gave me the Holy Grail of all shopping, the root of life or the politically correct term le credit card. I know, I know your probably thinking Who is this bad-ass and how can I be just like her? And it's fine really I'm totally flattered.

My Infinite Playlist

Quote of the Day: "Fashions fade, style is eternal."
                                                               — Yves Saint-Laurent
Song of The Day : Mount Kimbie- Made to Stray
If you haven't already heard I'm a fan of music. No that's incorrect I'm a junkie maybe even an addict. I can sincerely say I may love music more than I love fashion...okay that may be pushing it. Music is with me from the morning to the night and never really gets a break in between. I grew up with music and I'll probably die with headphones in my ear. I've taken it upon myself to graze you with my awesome musical taste. I personally feel that nobodies life is complete without sampling Jessica's Infinite Playlist-which is moi! So join me...if you dare.

I know, you may be expecting me to drone on about the ultimate hipster bands which ranges from The Beatles to The Rolling Stones. Pardon my language but I think that they're all crap. Nothing about The Beatles  or The Rolling Stones is remotely intriguing and you can quote me on it. Many of you may be outraged but it's the truth. I personally feel that those bands are what we like to call The Bandwagoners.

The Bandwagoners- those bands that you like not because you knew them from day one, or because you just like they're music no, it's because society thinks there cool and all your friends feel there cool so you take it upon yourself to forcibly like them and listen to them. Some of them include: The Ramones, Lorde, Foster The People, The Neighborhood, Calvin Harris, Kendrick Lamar, 2 Chainz, A$AP Rocky etc.

New York Fashion Week

Qoute of the Day: "I think there is beauty in everything. What ‘normal’ people would perceive as ugly, I can usually see something of beauty in it."
                                                                                  — Alexander McQueen
Song of the Day: RadioHead- Lotus Flower (Jaques Greene Remix)
There comes a time in one's life where everything social media needs to be shut off. A time where celebrities get front row seats to the hottest of shows. A time where over-credited socialites like Kendall Jenner are rubbing shoulders with fashion royalty like Anne Wintour. This time is Fashion Week.

Sorry that I haven't updated in a while but I couldn't bare to see all the Instagram photos or stupid tweets of how awesome people with equally as awesome lives were living it up this past week while I stayed at home with a smashed iPhone screen and an abundant amount of English homework. I'll tell you this before I start, every time fashion weeks comes around I tend to coincidentally disappear off the face off the earth and drown my sorrows in cheap Chapman's ice cream. So next time I go Caspar you'll know why.

There are four major fashion weeks and for some reason Toronto thinks their part of that fantastic four which is laughable to say the least. NYC, Milan, London and Paris come together twice a year to tell us what's in and what's out. They show us the newest trends of the season so we don't commit fashion suicide when frolicking the streets of our hometown, and for that we are extremely grateful. With 256 shows in about the time span of a month it's no wonder Fashion Week is one of the most popular events in the world. But sadly it is near impossible to see all these shows at once with all the intertwining schedules. It's a dog eat dog world, what can I say?

Now, I'm sure there were many awesome and wonderful collections strutting down the Mercedes Benz catwalk but naming all of them would be a bore. So I'm going to stick with all the highlights of last week.
